Writing this review to rave about the service I received today at E&G. Today, being the F'ing amazing boss that I am, I wanted to do something nice for my employees' hard work lately. So I put in a last-minute order for three party platters to be delivered late morning. I put the order in online at, like, 10:15 and I knew this was already asking a lot. Immediately after placing the order, I received a call from the place. I feared the worst... But no, my knights in shining armor came through for me. The online system really shouldn't have let my order go through so last minute, but it did, and they were slammed with lunch orders. Could I possibly take the order if they did it in the next 30 minutes? Holy testicle Tuesday. I had hungry mouths to feed and, of course, I'd take the sandwiches that quickly! I felt terrible for throwing such a wrench into their day, but they accommodated and I couldn't be more impressed with that kind of service. Let me throw some more feedback in on E&G in general... everybody has ALWAYS been incredibly fast and friendly. I love their subs and generally think there isn't a bad one on the menu, although let's be honest - vegetarians, you don't have many options. Let's be even more honest - you should be eating meat anyway. It's meat. It's tasty. Listen, good service should get more noteworthy praise and so should good food. High fives to all the guys and gals at Erbert and Gerbert's. You guys are doing it the right way and you are very appreciated!

Literally the worst sub place ever. 7 bucks for 6"(maybe) of lettuce and bread. Makes Subway look like a 5 star sub shop. Id return it if i wasnt on my lunch break. What a joke.

The subs used to be better than the other places like Subway, but now they reduced the amount of meat and other ingredients. It seems lesser quality over all as well. Plus the service is TERRIBLE every time I go in. There seem to be just 'kids' working there who don't care. The last time I was there the girl and guy making my subs were talking about how they both are very sick and keep coughing. I was standing right there. I don't expect them to be professional necessarily, but some level of people skills and polite mature behavior would be nice. Not talking about the party you were at last night and how sick you are while making my food. They seem to also have a parking problem by their staff. Lastly, It's gotten too expensive for what you get.

Subs at Erbs and Gerbs are in the same category as Subway and Jimmy John's, I am not really preferential to any of them. Jimmy John's is great for delivery, Subway is great if I feel I am getting fat, and Erbs is great if I want soup with it. I really like the soup choices, and the prices are fine with me. The sandwiches really aren't that unique and the names mean nothing. I usually buy the Narmer (whatever the hell that is) and its a safe bet. Not really feeling like exploring the other sandwiches because the names scare me. At least the soups have normal names...I know what chicken noodle is when I order it.

Being better than Subway is a REALLY low bar to get over. Today I had the Sweet Chili sub. It is one of the two vegetarian subs on the menu. The sandwich I got was missing several of the ingredients listed on the website. I really wanted the avocado, but got none. They also added mayo even though it was not listed. The rest of the sandwiches list the mayo, this one did not so I did not request to leave it off. I was not happy. The veggies that were included were not very good. They were flavorless and far from "plentiful, fresh, and delicious." I guess scooping out the bread and leaving the insides on your sandwich is their thing, its not mine. This place is not my place, it is going on my blacklist.

Erbert and Gerbert's blows Subway out of the water. Once you go E&G, you won't go back. Their bread is better, their cold cuts are higher quality and the sandwich is assembled better. At E&G, the center of the bread is scooped out to make room for the fillings. Then the "guts" are placed on top and are perfect for dipping in your soup (I recommend the chicken noodle or the chicken and wild rice or the chicken and dumpling). I love their unique sandwiches - the Girf and I are in a pretty serious long-term relationship (although I recently cheated to get a taste of the new buffalo chicken sub).
